Alexander Vulykh
Alexander is one of the best-known contemporary Russian poets. His poetry is regularly published in periodicals and appears in major Russian encyclopedias and anthologies of Russian poetry, including Stanzas of the Century (1995) and Russian Poetry: The 20th Century (1998).
In 1998, A. Vulykh was invited to Russkoye Radio, where he worked for two years. He wrote “Poem of the Day by Alexander Vulykh,” producing a new popular aphorism every day. Russkoye Radio listeners repeated and retold these daily miniatures. This is how Sasha became a professional poet - someone earning a living through poetry. He soon realized, however, that in Russia a poet could make money only in show business. Vulykh therefore began writing lyrics for songs. As the show-business industry developed, so did his career as a lyricist. Alexander wrote lyrics for leading artists on the Russian pop scene. Songs with his lyrics were performed by Philipp Kirkorov, Nikolay Noskov, Larisa Dolina, Alexander Marshal, Irina Allegrova, Igor Sarukhanov, Lolita, Ani Lorak, Jasmin, Natasha Korolyova, Diana Gurtskaya, Anna Reznikova, Mikhail Shufutinsky, Boris Moiseyev, Danko, Viktor Chayka, Alexander Buynov, Strelki, Premier-Ministr, Samotsvety, Na-Na, Murzilki International (an Avtoradio project), Shao? Bao!, Alexander Kalyanov, Vladimir Presnyakov and many others. The first song by t.A.T.u., “Tell Me Why I Wait for Your Call,” was also written by Alexander Vulykh.
